Special Events

Ceremony for ‘special events’ is really only limited by our imaginations and our desire to mark the moment by moment experiences that make up a lifetime.  They can be designed and carried out in privacy, with a small group or a larger community gathering.

As a celebrant I have helped people design and deliver a wondrous range of meaningful ‘special event’ ceremonies.

For example:

  • Room Blessing and Opening

A very proud and happy day for the Little Fighters Trust when they opened and blessed a room at Ronald McDonald House.  The local Kaumatua and I worked together.

  • Opening a school reunion:

Kia ora koutou, welcome and well done for being here tonight – forty or forty-one years on!

  • Opening an AGM with a chance to review the year and renew for the new year symbolically before the meeting proper! Followed by an AGM CLOSURE
  • Matariki, the Maori New Year. This coincides with our mid-winter festivities and is a chance to pause and acknowledge our year, our ancestors and our family and friends .

Ma te wheturangi o Matariki, e tiaki mai, e manaaki mai i a koe, I a koutou ranei, mo te tau e taka mai ana.  May the gentle light of Matariki guide and inspire you all this year.

A ritual.

  • And your event is?
